North Carolina Consumer Finance Licensees

The Office of the Commissioner of Banks licenses and regulates the business activities of loan companies that make consumer loans of $10,000 or less under the North Carolina Consumer Finance Act (North Carolina General Statutes, Chapter 53, Article 15).  A licensee may charge interest that exceeds the rate that Chapter 24 of the North Carolina General Statutes allows, but it may not make a loan secured by real property.
