The Office of the Commissioner of Banks (OCOB) charters and supervises commercial banks, savings banks, savings & loan associations, and non-depository trust companies operating with their home office in North Carolina and in accordance with Chapter 53, 54B, or 54C of the North Carolina General Statutes.
All bank and savings bank holding companies that operate within our State, either directly or indirectly, must register with this office within 180 days of conducting business within the State and there after on an annual basis no later than July 1st of every year in accordance with NC GS 53-225, et seq.
All companies performing fiduciary activities within our State must apply for a license each calendar year in accordance with NC GS 159.1, et seq.
