Emerging Issues Forum for Bank Directors

The Bank Directors’ Forum: Updates and Emerging Issues has proven to be of great value to directors of all experience levels. Institutions in North Carolina have continued to support this program not only with the participation of their state-chartered bank directors but also with the commitment of the chief executive officers to encourage their directors to attend. However, one comment that continues to be expressed from directors who have attended is the need for additional classes.

Since 2006, our office has partnered with the College of Management at North Carolina State University to offer advanced level programs for alumni of the Bank Directors’ Forum: Updates and Emerging Issues. These programs address more advanced corporate governance topics including emerging best practices and board expectations related to audit committee responsibilities, risk management oversight, strategic planning, and organizational culture. Our goal is to continue to offer additional advanced level classes that will focus on emerging issues in the financial industry and the challenges facing institutions.
